Miles That Matter

On June 23rd, FLYRS coach and local rider McKenna Marino (age 17) will embark on an Independent Time Trial (ITT) of the Colorado Trail Race, a 530+ mile, self-supported bikepacking adventure from Denver to Durango with 70,000 feet of elevation gain. Upon finishing the course, she will have broken the record for the youngest solo female rider ever to finish this race.

McKenna would like to bring more meaning to this adventure by using each mile she rides to support FLYRS’ mission of ensuring that financial barriers never get in the way of experiencing the joy of mountain biking. With a fundraising goal of $3,000 for this ride, FLYRS will use the proceeds to increase more access for girls in mountain biking.

How you can help:

Support FLYRS and McKenna’s record-breaking goal by pledging a donation.

  • Donate per mile completed (e.g., $0.05, $0.10, $0.25, $0.50, $1.. or even more!)

  • Or make a one-time donation of any amount!
